Dwell Ministries

If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with You.

God invites us to abide, settle, and dwell with Him. In His house and in His hands, wounds are healed. Dwell Ministries aims to create spaces for learning how to place our hearts, hurts, insecurities, fears, thoughts, experiences, and hopes at the feet of the living God. As we bring our experiences into the light of Christ, the fullness of those testimonies will be to God's glory, reflecting His amazing grace and love to those around us.

Dwell include four distinct ministries: Gospel Care, Premarital Care, 1:1 Biblical Counseling, Intercessory Prayer

Gospel Care

Gospel Care relationships provide one-to-one, distinctively Christian care to individuals experiencing life's challenges and difficulties. Care relationships are single-gender, one-hour weekly meetings offered for an 8-week period. Caregivers are trained volunteers from our church community.

Meet our current Caregivers team:

Leslie Chou

Leslie has been a part of the Journey community since 2013, when she began studying at Emory University for her undergraduate degree. She has seen how God strengthens and encourages through community and wants to be a small part in what God can do in times of difficulty or transition. Leslie hopes to serve as a listening ear and a reminder of God's love, and she is excited for how God will move.

Jiyeon Kim

As an oral healthcare provider, Jiyeon helps her patients to achieve dental and physical health. In becoming a certified yoga instructor, she realized her passion to help others towards holistic health, including mental and emotional. Jiyeon is blessed to have lived in many cities across two countries, experiencing different cultures and cultivating new relationships. She cherishes getting to know sisters in Christ and feels honored to share deep thoughts and conversations together. As a caregiver, she hopes to be a witness and helper of God’s restoration in the spiritual journeys of sisters, who desire to be seen, heard, loved, and connected to God.

Jessica Ouyang

Jessica has been a member at Journey since 2018. She wants to walk alongside and support those who may be hurting as God works in their lives. She believes God will and does work in all circumstances, whether it is in ways we expect or not. She is honored for the chance to listen and walk alongside others as God meets us where we are. Jessica currently works at a consulting firm and in her free time she enjoys playing board games, tennis, and watching detective shows.

Michelle Zhang

Michelle first attended Journey Church as a Georgia Tech freshman and has enjoyed serving as both a young adult Family Group host and a coach for college hosts. She currently works as a software developer while also pursuing a Masters at GT. Michelle has always had a heart for discipleship and walking through life together with sisters, whether through difficult or joyous times. She’s honored by the opportunity to join as a Gospel Care giver. She hopes to help to provide a safe place for others to feel seen, and that many people will be able to experience God’s love and truth.

Premarital Care

Exploring personal beliefs alongside the Word of God, Premarital Care supports the building of habits toward a healthy, God-anchored marriage. Couples partake in weekly group teaching sessions for an 8-week period and also 2-3 mentor meetups with a married mentor couple. Premarital Care is offered twice a year (February, August).

1:1 Biblical Counseling

Biblical counseling is gospel-centered, church-based, compassionate, and culturally informed one-another ministry. One-hour weekly sessions with certified Biblical counselor Claudia Robbie (Association of Biblical Counseling) take place over a 10-week period. Open to individuals as well as couples.

Intercessory Prayer

Our new intercessory prayer ministry aims to offer a space where others can come to receive prayer and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, be encouraged, edified, and comforted. We currently gather to pray on behalf of others and out church community Sundays from 12:30P to 1:15P.
