Serve Teams

Welcoming

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35

Purpose
To share God’s love to the congregation by engaging with newcomers and regular attendees alike through welcoming, ushering, and initiating relationships during fellowship. Our Welcoming Serve Team has a focus on newcomers, collecting contact information to lead to church community engagement while also acting as a resource and familiar presence during events. Welcomers also help prepare for logistics during Sunday services, Friday prayer meetings, and special events such as retreats.

The heart of our Welcoming serve team is to love tangibly by praying for and cultivating an environment where everyone feels like they are part of our Journey Church community, which includes welcoming people both during and outside of service, building relationships and inviting newcomers and others who may not have a community or group to events for opportunities for them to connect with others. By helping people connect with the community, we want people to consider Journey Church a place in which they can grow spiritually, and consequently that the Gospel would be known and lived and that salvation would be found through being a part of this church.
