Kristin Liu Copeland
Deacon
After Kristin’s parents moved to the United States, they began attending a Chinese church and named their first daughter Kristin (pronounced Christine) after the figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi. “Kristin” also also means daughter of Christ. Kristin accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at 12 years old. Upon graduating college, she served for one year with the Jubilee Year LA and the Episcopal Service Corps in Los Angeles, CA.
Following her difficult but rewarding service year, Kristin moved to Atlanta for Emory Rollins School of Public Health. Fellow deacon Elisha invited Kristin to visit Journey with her and her husband Vincent, and Kristin officially joined in 2017. Kristin volunteers with local partner City Hope Community with the Children’s Church on Sundays while serving Journey in other ways. She is an avid consumer and expert of pop culture, TV shows and movies to be specific. Kristin also loves eating out (especially pizza), traveling, and pet sitting. She married Christopher Liu Copeland in November 2024.
